Sorry that it's been a while since my last post. Things have been busy (good busy!) in the shop recently, with visitors from all over the UK and beyond; the more exotic locations being Tazmania, Louisiana and Cape Town!
There have been a few stock updates in the shop... we have had a restock from Truly Hooked, including lots more yarn and now the new Second Drawer Down sock book! Abercairn Yarns has had to expand to three shelves of yarn, and now has some gorgeous hand dyed fibres for spinning and felting too! Knitter Scarlet has dropped over some more yarns and fibre, including new non-wool fibres for the spinners amongst you; Temporal Spin now has two shelves of sci-fi inspired goodies, and Bear in Sheep's Clothing has restocked their squishy lushiousness too!
There are new dyers in the shop too, including Sianny's Yarnies, Hey Jay Yarns, Woolly Mama, and our most recent additions - Mam a Mi - a mother and daughter team who dye and spin and have popped in with several bags worth of scrummy goodies including art yarns, silks, and one-of-a-kind fibres.
Earlier in July, I was lucky enough to attend a small local wool gathering organised by Calon Wlan, a local wool initiative. They had loads of fantastic artisans there, and I was delighted that I was able to bring Ewe Felty Thing along for the day!
I have also been visiting a few of the big wool festivals recently, and was delighted to be able to meet up with some of my lovely dyers at Fibre East last weekend! Photographs had to happen, so please let me introduce:
Rachael from Cat and Sparrow UK,
Bernie from Bear in Sheep's Clothing
And Verity from Truly Hooked!
I took my children away on holiday after Fibre East, down to Dorset for a week. I barely had time to do any knitting or spinning whilst we were away, but we were lucky enough to visit Bath, where I spotted some Roman spindle whirls!
I promise to post again soon with the other things that have been going on and also some rather exciting news!!
