Learn how to knit two colour brioche when working in the round with North Wales knitwear designer, Kath Andrews.
Understand how to read your brioche knitting in the round and how to tell which round and which yarn to work next!
Learn how to avoid common problems at the beginning or end of a round and what the differences are between working brioche in the round rather than flat.
We’ll be making brioche wrist warmers using the basic two colour brioche stitch, a brioche increase and one decrease, with options for how many increase and decrease pattern repeats to include.
Skills required
Ideal for knitters who can:
- Cast on and cast off
- Knit and purl confidently
- knitting small circumferences in the round using either magic loop technique or dpns.
- Work basic two‑colour brioche stitch is useful, but not essential.
(Perfect follow‑up to our introductory brioche workshop.)
What to bring
- Needles: either 6mm circular knitting needles (at least 80cm long for using the magic loop technique) OR 6mm double pointed needles (dpns).
- Yarn: 2 contrasting colours of Aran weight yarn (about 10g of each is plenty).
- You may find a lockable stitch marker useful, but it is not essential.
- Pen or pencil.
Handouts are provided, and suitable yarn and needles are available to purchase in the shop.
