About The Wheel

The Ashford Traveller 3 was launched in 2023 as an update to the original Traveller wheel which has been popular and in continuous production since 1977. It is a lovely wheel to spin on, as well as being ideal for smaller spaces or for taking your spinning out and about with you. Although it doesn't fold like the Joy 2, it's upright structure makes it more space saving than the Traditional or Elizabeth wheels. 

• It has 4 ratios to fit with your speed requirements and is easily changed with it's polycord drive band. 
• It is quick and easy to assemble, and you can choose between a natural finish or a lacquered finish. 
• It's upright design and central flyer make this wheel fabulous for keeping a good posture whilst spinning. 
• It's an attractive design which has been proven effective for nearly 50 years. 
• The 18" drive wheel builds momentum helping you to have a more effortless and consistent spin. 

The wheel comes with a built-in Lazy Kate and threading hook to streamline your spinning, and features a sliding hook flyer which fits new, larger bobbins in comparrison to the older versions which use the 'standard' bobbin. Three bobbins are included with the wheel.

You can also choose to upgrade to our boutique package for an additional £150. This includes everything you need to get you started on your spinning journey, and an hour's tuition on your wheel. We'll even throw in refreshments to make your day extra special. As your starter pack, you'll receive:

• An hour's tuition
• A niddy noddy
• A yarn gauge
• Hand carders
• 500g (5 x 100g) of natural wool from different breeds to learn to spin on.
